Washington Butler is a native of Puyallup who was fascinated by the arts at a very young age. She was a singer in choirs, entered performances in singing contests, and was a part of high school and community theatre. Following her move into Los Angeles, she studied theater in the University of Southern California and was Belle the Princess in Beauty and the Beast at Disneyland for an year and one quarter. She quit college to find an agent to represent her talents, and started auditioning for television and films. Butler appeared as a guest star in her own TV series CSI: Miami. In 2008, she was been featured in the web series Luke 11:17. The show was written and directed by Don Stark. Butler played a part on I Love Vampires and a regular one in Luke 11:17. She won the title in I Spit on Your Grave, the remake of 1978's film that had the same title. While initially dissuaded by the nakedness of the film as well as the brutality, its strong female edge and character storyline convinced her to perform the part.
